“One of the most calming and powerful actions you can do to intervene in a stormy world is to stand up and show your soul.”

What's therapy like?

I meet with clients for 50 minute sessions in person in Ventura or via telehealth. Families sessions often require 75 to 90 minutes. For the first few sessions, we'll talk a lot. I'll ask many questions to get to know you and begin to establish trust. Together we will identify themes to attend to. Depending on where you are at and what you need in the moment, we may process thoughts and feelings verbally, by creating art, or using body-based grounding and mindfulness practices. We will also work to identify strategies to help you take these practices out of the therapy room and into your daily life.

How much does therapy cost?

  • My fees range from $150 for individuals - $190 for families per hour.
  • A monthly superbill can be provided for you to submit to other insurance companies for out-of-network benefits.
  • Payment is expected at the time of service.

Therapeutic Approaches

Depth Psychology

Depth Psychology is rooted in Freudian and Jungian notions that unconscious factors affect our thoughts, feelings, and behaviors. By exploring the unconscious through active imagination, dreamwork, shadow work, and soul exploration, one can better know themself. In the depth tradition, we explore the world mythopoetically, allowing us to understand and make meaning of our lives through myth, metaphor, and poetry.

  Cognitive & Dialectic Behavior

Cognitive Behavioral Therapy helps clients to addresses thought patterns that are no longer helpful or have become harmful. By understanding the relationship between thoughts, feelings and behavior, we can work to break old patterns and begin to live new stories. I am also trained in Trauma Focused CBT as a modality to work with trauma.

Dialectic Behavioral Therapy focuses on four key aspects: mindfulness, distress tolerance, emotional regulation, and interpersonal effectiveness to help clients deal with issues from depression to PTSD and has been shown to improve self-confidence and strengthen relationships.

 Somatics

Soma is an ancient Greek word that relates to the body. Through somatic practices we understand and work with emotions as they live in the body as well as engage the body in healing efforts. These practices can be particularly helpful for people dealing with depression, anxiety , grief or trauma. By connecting with the body we are able to tap into its innate wisdom and our soul's connection to the Earth and the Cosmos.
